NEW BOOK: "Too Scary to Read Alone" & Online Panel
Wolfgang Parker has partnered with master illustrator, Vilnius Oorte, for a new middle grade horror series titled, Too Scary to Read Alone, coming April 20, 2024.
Reader beware! You hold in your hands the gateway to horror.
These five original short stories are the beginning of your journey into the dark domains of the supernatural, the weird and grotesque, and the starkly terrifying. Read them alone at your own risk.
Finish Me: Avery must break the habit of never finishing any book she starts — because her life depends on it.
Whisperer in the Walls: Eli can’t make time for his kid brother, so someone — or something — else does.
interFEARence: Malcolm stays out past his curfew and discovers that he isn’t alone.
Floaters: Micha keeps a secret from her family, and even her best friend, that might just cost her everything.
The Thing in the Sky: Hugo lives through the morning the sun doesn’t rise and must learn to find the light in Earth’s darkest days.
BE ADVISED: These stories are actually scary and not everyone makes it out alive. They include: animals dying en masse, car crashes, characters bleeding, cults, graphic depiction of a gunshot injury, mild cursing (“hell” and “ass”), non-graphic depictions of a character’s death, parental homophobia, physical injury from a tornado.
Intended for ages 9 and over.
